The Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance (API PA) is the first-ever statewide civil rights and political organization directly advocating for the needs of Asian Pacific Islanders in Pennsylvania, led by and for our communities. Digital Organizing is the practice of building a digital presence and community to move people to action online and in person. By curating API PA's social media presence, creating content with the latest digital trends, and actively engaging with our online audience, I was able to help grow API PA's digital impact, thus strengthening collective power for Pennsylvania AAPIs.
First starting as the Digital Organizing Fellow for the organization, I then transitioned into the full-time role of Digital Organizer for API PA, ensuring our community members get the information they need for campaigns, elections, and events through avenues such as social media, email marketing, and physical literature. I work closely with other departments and partner organizations to design graphics that can be spread statewide to maximize our reach in the Asian community of Pennsylvania.
API PA's notable campaigns include the Save Chinatown Philly/No Arena in Chinatown Coalition and Justice for Christian Hall (J4CH). With a commitment to inclusion, API PA provides most information in multiple languages to ensure the diverse AAPI community of Pennsylvania is represented and taken care of.
